" I have rented from Centauro for more that 20 years with 5 or 6 rentals each year. My Gold Card number is 8766 On 28th April 2025 I rented from Centauro until May 2nd. When I returned the car the staff member immediately carefully examined the right front wheel and pointed out that it was badly scarred. I strongly denied that the damage had happened in the 4 days I had the car and pointed out that the scarring was old. I had examined the car when I collected it (lots of old scrapes and dents in the two front wings) but I did not examine the wheels which would have been difficult anyway because the cars were parked tightly together. The attendant noted my disagreement and committed to email a photo of the damage as I felt that this would allow me to prove that the damage was old as were the many scrapes and dents on both front wings of the car. I was relieved when I got an email as normal from Centauro on 2nd including the following: Having finished your car rental and the vehicle check in process completed, we will automatically return any pre-authorization, deposit or pending refund due to you. Depending on your bank, this refund may take a few days to show up on your account. However I then saw a debit on my credit card for €466 pending. Unless this transaction is reversed, I intend to post on Trustpilot the following Beware damage claims from Centauro Alicante Because I have annual insurance for excess insurance I always refuse the added insurance cost when renting. When I returned a car to Centauro in Alicante on May 2nd after 4 days from April 28th the staff member carefully examined one front wheel which was scarred; he largely ignored the other wheels. It was clear to me that the scarring was old and had not happened in the previous 4 days. The tyre was unmarked. Both front wings had considerable old damage. I was shocked to see a debit for €466 on my credit without any correspondence to me and without receiving the promised photo of the damage which I believe would prove my point about the age of the damage. "

I had booked a full cover zero excess insurance with zero deductible when I booked with auto Europe but this wasn't what centauro had. this led to a very worrying situation despite talking to auto Europe on the phone where I wasn't sure if I had a zero deductible or not. The girl in office was very snappy when asking how many liters fueltank holds, as we just forked out 110, also we had to search for the car as she gave us wrong information as to where it's parked. Car had visible damages but we didnt want to speak with the unfriendly girl again, having waiver we drove off. I do not believe they completely filled the fueltank, just after few km needle dropped. When on reserve filling for 20 Euro resulted in half full tank, I estimate it's full with less than 50, meaning Centauro has 60 hidden fuel charges. "

The Fiat is a much larger car than the Focus and with a smaller engine, as I spent much of my time driving either on motorways or mountain roads, the lack of power was evident. Other than that, the service was excellent, car was clean and well maintained (apart from the almost empty windscreen washer bottle) and very good value for money. "

" 1. The Autoeurope website advertised a "zero excess package". While I understood at the time of booking what this meant, it did not surprise me when Centauro wanted 78 euros for their proper no excess product called SUPER COVER A. Slippery wording guys!!!!!! 2. The car was dirty inside, and not much cleaner on the outside. 3. The wind screen wipers were so noisy, I could not have them on permanently. They would not flex on the windscreen, and skidded over the glass. "
" Deals can be very good, especially when excess waiver is included. It would be better to know the supplier before committing. Also, Booking was accepted this time on basis of traveling from Spain to France but extra charge for driving in France was not revealed until voucher was available. Don't like hidden charges! "
" Happy with service from Centauro except for two things: 1. Directions to courtesy bus pick-up were not clear. Perhaps put up a sign outside the terminal. 2. In common with other providers in Spain, paying for a full tank on collection and not getting credit for any petrol left on return is a con. Why not do like everywhere else and supply car with a full tank but customer must return it full also. That would be more fair. "
