" The rip off that was perpatrated by Dollar car hire upon the return of the vehicle, because of a 10 mm scratch on a wheel rim was nothing short of robbery. They charged €90 for damage assessment ( this was the returns person looking at the wheel for all of 15 seconds ) . Then he automatically assessed the damage at €350 , which would more than cover the cost of a new wheel . All the wheels on the vehicle had similar scratches of various lengths yet only one wheel was marked on the car outline form provided.I had heard of some cowboy operators ripping off customers in this manner but I did not expect a supposedly reputable company to behave in this manner. I was presented with a bill for 440 CHf for damages and I am sure that once the car was refreshed ( but unrepaired )it was given to another unsuspecting client . Also The vehicle was a four wheel drive , suitable for all terrain and weather conditions. "

" The Auto Europe website was easy to use, the emails are clear and concise and overall the process was pretty smooth. However, it should have been explained that another company (Hertz) was actually supplying the car. "
" Dollar don't actually have a customer desk in Zurich airport and the Thrifty / Dollar branding is a bit confusing, so it was not clear where to go to collect the car. After a few enquiries, I discovered that the actual car was being supplied by Hertz and I dealt with their staff. "

" DOLLAR had a sign referring customers to HERTZ. HERTZ was OK but did not brief on features of the car. "
" Returning vehicles is a bit chaotic, but I appreciate that this is not your total responsibility. Our car was provided through Hertz, who presumably represent Dollar in Geneva? Girl on reception was friendly and helpful, evev before she knew we were her clients. Very good experience overall. "

" Due to circumstances beyond our control we missed our flight home from Geneva, resulting in us flying home through Lyon. Returning the car was a nightmare, we were lead to believe that there would be no charge for this but, we were then charged 600. The staff at Lyon airport dealt with the situation extremely badly and unprofessionally. We were left feeling very upset about the whole situation and ruined what was a lovely holiday. I will be making a formal complaint. "
