" I've no issues with autoeurope over the incident. It was my own mistake with the booking. However I couldn't find a working email address for AutoEurope to ask for assistance in making contact with Thrify customer service. All emails bounced back. "
" I made a mistake with my booking. My own fault. I booked the car for one day later than I needed to. My own fault. I asked at the counter if I could change that and was told that I needed to pay €170 for the extra day. I accepted that as I had no choice. However later I discovered that it was actually only €100 for the extra days rental, but the agent had charged me an extra €70 for optional insurance that wasn't included in my original booking. I was never asked about this, and didn't agree to it. Also I was told to ignore the fact that the fuel gauge wasn't showing totally full. I was told it was a fault on the car and when returning it, not to be worried that wouldn't show full then. Indeed it was not shown as full when taking the car, but when I filled up the car when returning it was showing full! So I was conned over that also. No contact details for Thrifty in France to be able to raise this with customer service afterwards. "

" On purchasing the car rental through Autoeurope, I selected to upgrade by paying extra for the "Full Damage Protection". On arriving at the Thrifty office, I was informed that this insurance had nothing to do with Thrifty and I ended up purchasing the upgraded insurance for a second time. I feel that this is very misleading by Autoeurope as the "Important Information" on selecting "Full Damage Protection" does not mention the insurance is not with Thrifty. While the service at the office was excellent, I expect that I will be dealing directly with the car rental insurance company from now on. "

" I cancelled the booking immediately 29/4 following flight cancellation (Shannon to Beziers scheduled 1/5) by RyanAir due to French ATC strike. I called and emailed Auroeurope to request a refund or voucher but got no response. €350 spent. I had to pay Autoeurope to hire another car in Palma de Mallorca when we changed our holiday there. Another €100+ spent Please advise if compensation possible. "

My main issue was that we drove only 197 Kms in total and when I refilled the tank at the local airport Total station it cost €47 to refill at €1.99 per litre for E10 unleaded. Clearly the car had not been full on collection although we were told it was full. Thrifty offered a refill at a charge of €4+ per litre if I returned it without filling which is an extortionate price. Overall car hire pricing rates are much too high post covid "

On return a feeble attempt to blame me for one scratch out of dozens was resisted but I disliked the general attitude. Had I taken out expensive excess protection to then be handed a car in such condition( I have plenty of photos) I would have been furious and would have felt cheated. Cosmetic issues aside the vehicle was very comfortable and good value. "

Ie you're finished go to your car, you're not finished cone back after alert etc. Also staff got me to sign a document 're insurance.. .they said it was me refusing insurance. That is not the case as the rental came with CDW insurance and I pointed that out. The issue was with regard to insuring the excess. This should be abundantly clear. "

" In the overall you are better than most I've dealt with over the last twenty years. I was a little surprised when on arrival at pick up the agent was unable to accept my wofe's credit card - the reason was that I had myself named as the driver when booking AND you accepted my wife's card for payment on line. I appreciate that it is normal practice that the card own is the driver BUT this was not clear when booking and so we had some inconvenience and delay due to the choice of starting a new booking in my wife's name and pay for me as an additional driver OR for me to use my card. I don not use credit cards so I had to transfer funds to cover the 'hold' cost of €750 otherwise pay for me as a additional driver on my wife's booking. I suggest you make it clearer at outset when booking online that the main driver will be the credit card owner. "
