" They didn't put a block on my credit card like other companies I've used. One company wanted 2000 block on my card, another 1800. I took out my own collision waiver insurance with AIG for €23, that covered 1800 excess damage locauto required in the event of an accident, that waiver insurance with locauto was much more expensive, over 100 I recall. Locauto examined the car with me on pick up and pointed out several damaged. I pointed out 3 marks not recorded on the damage report. Thanks agent told me you could accumulate 3 marks under 5 cm during the hire and they wouldn't be counted as damage, but I noted them anyway. I was emailed the agreed damage within 15mins. When I dropped it off the agent did a quick check of the car and said it was not damaged and I received the agreed drop off damage report again within 15 mins. I havent had any correspondence from locauto since but u never know if there are outstanding speeding tickets on the way "
" Had to take a ticket to get to see a rep. The ticket began with a letter and then a number, mine was L019. That put u in a queue to see a rep that was servicing 5 sub rental companies, locauto, Alamo, national, Enterprise, drive. It took 1 hours 12 mins from I took the ticket until my ticket number was called. I was the third locauto customer, L017 and L018 were ahead of me. In the interim there was about 10 or 12 customers for the other sub rental companies eg E009, E010, M011, M012, etc. this was most annoying part of the hire process. Thing was, there was customers who stood for 10 maybe 15 minutes, thinking they were in the queue and when they approached the agent they were asked for their ticket and they had none, then they had to go and get a queue ticket, then after all that wait their turn in the queue. "

" At pickup we were waiting 15 minutes for the staff to show up at the counter. On drop off - I filled the tank just outside Naples and dropped the car off. They said that the tank wasn't full and asked me to pay €62.73. I said that this charge was unacceptable as the tank was as close to full as possible without knowing the city, I filled it at the last station on the motorway. I'd say €6-8 would fill the tank. I offered to pay €25. Then the "supervisor" came out and said I actually owed €75.08 and that his colleague was new and made an error. I refused to sign for it but the "supervisor" told me they had my card details and they'd take it anyway. He was exceptionally rude. Shouted at us and walked away. They would not show me where the shuttle bus was leaving from until I signed for the new charge of €75.08 even though I'd already signed for the previous charge. Never again will I go near Locauto they're barely a step above thieves. "

" For full peace of mind, we normally take out full cover insurance when we rent a car. One issue we find is that the rental company will ask you to do the cover locally when you collect the car and that they do not recognise the cover we took out online. Hence, there should be better coordination between the broker (AutoEurope) and the local rental company (in this case; Locauto). Otherwise very happy with Auto Europe, which is my favourite broker. "

I was travelling with 2 young babies plus luggage and buggies etc and as a result we were all squeezed in like sardines. We had been travelling since early morning and were tired and hungry, the whole experience was very stressful and ruined the 1st day of my holiday. I am awaiting a phone call or email to explain why this happened and I am also looking for a part- refund on my booking "

" Yes they were good. I went straight to the car depot as the directions inside the airport directed me and others to the outside depot. But we had to go back to airport to check in. Also the armed guards was a bit off puting; but I guess thats Catania "
