" I was sent out to find the car myself it was not in the numbered spot I was told or nearby when I returned to the desk I was told to walk around and press the key fob. When I found it there were marks on it not recorded I went back to the desk and they just put an x on the papers I had without recording it on the copies they had. On route to my destination I discovered the AC was not working and when the temperature exceeded 30c I had to stop and tried to contact firefly they would not answer the phone I finally rang Hertz and they put them in the line. I was told to ring the breakdown service which I did to be told if the car was driveable there was nothing they could do. Finally after numerous attempts to contact firefly I made contact again through hertz and had to go some distance out of my way to collect another car. The gentleman who dealt with me at the Hertz office in Bayeux was very helpful. I will never use Firefly again. "

" I arrived in Paris at 10.30 on the 26th of October. When I arrived at the firefly counter it was closed so hertz desk took my order. I had booked a mid size car and had opted for the insurance to cover the excess. I had paid my fee up front and when I arrived the clerk at the desk wanted to pre-authorize 600 Euro on my credit card. I didn't have 600 credit so he charged my an extra 75 Euro. I wasn't informed about any of this prior to my arrival. The clerk wouldn't take my visa debit card which had money on it. I still don't understand how I needed to pre-authorize 600 Euro as I had opted for the insurance that covered the excess this does not make sense??? I was on a tight budget and now am a very dissatisfied customer. Ref:60048763 "

I feel that I was bullied into taking out the super insurance. I had no other option it was 10.45 at this stage I had to get my family safely to their hotel and the idea of being stranded in beauvais airport seemed very real. The only option offered by the clerk was to pre-authorize 250 Euro and take out extra insurance at a cost of 75 Euro. Under duress I opted for this. This ment my car hire increased by more than 50%. " I' had a problem in that I misjudged the time that it would take me to get back to Lyon airport & in order to catch my flight ( check in had closed ) I had to leave my hire car outside the Terminal & leave the key at the information desk. I called the Firefly office at least 5 times to advise them of the situation but they didn't answer the phone. When I rang Auto Europe my call was answered & the person that I spoke with understood my situation & said that she would pass on the whereabouts of the car & keys to Firefly. Also whilst in the Terminal a very kind woman working at the Travelex currency exchange desk also tried to call Firefly many times on my behalf. Full marks to Auto Europe for their assistance , zero points to Firefly. "

I understand & accept that there will be charges for not getting the car back to the actual deport but Firefly should look at how difficult they make it for renters to communicate with them. "
