First of all, the car ended up being via Avis rent a car. The people own both beside each other. Second, it said on (after purchasing the highest level of insurance avaialable) the agreement that a 200 Euro Deposit was required. When myself and my wife arrived we had to wait for two hours. I explained that the car was via Budget and not Avis but they said that they were the same. Following on from this (as nobody spoke English [Luckily I speak French] and after a two hour wait I (and everyone else waiting) were told that a 850 Euro block on the credit card was required for things like extra mileage, damage, etc. (This is after paying the premium insurance rate). I and everyone else was also told that a 150 Euro block was also required in the event that there are parking and speeding fines. Pure Chaos with some people cancelling, other poor unfortunates with young children having to phone up family members asking if they could use their credit card for the deposit. Enventually when I got the keys to the car with all checks on the form relating to the state of the car as being in good condition, I then noticed just before I got into the car, that one side of the car was badly damaged and another side had scrapes on it. When I went back to explain this, they said ok and put on the form where the damage was. I explained that I wanted another car, did not want to drive a damaged car, it was unsafe to be driving a damaged car, their reply was that this is was all they had. When I asked for my money back they explained that this was not possible as it was paid in advance. Now at 3.5 hours. After 11 days, having to drive a damaged car around France I returned the car on the due time. This time a shorter wait. Unbelievably when I asked them to check the car before I left, the person checking the car said that there was damage to the car. I showed him where they had put on the paper where the damage was. He then went back to the counter, showed the Manager person the paper showing where it was initially damaged. They then went out again and said ok, no problem. 1.5 hours later they released the depoist. As a person who rents out a car on a monthly basis, I have never experienced such bad service in my life [And By the way - The car rental was meant to be with Budget but turned out to be with Avis as the people have the franchise on both]. " Hi Budget, No issues with any aspect of the car. My main problem was I was rear ended in Collioure whilst driving with my wife and daughter. It was completely the fault of the other driver. However Budget still took €1000 from my credit card whilst they pursue the other insurance company. All proper forms were completed and are with Budget. Given we were the victims, I feel very hard done by. "

" My family and I were very disappointed that we could not collect our car on the night of our arrival. Our flight was delayed with the result that by the time it arrived the budget office was closed. My family including a baby and small children ended up sleeping in the airport overnight until the budget office opened in the morning. I would have expected that budget would have made arrangements to take care of its customers rather than simply shut office and show no concern for customers. For example I should have been notified that no one would be there. Once I became aware that the flight would be delayed I contacted auto Europe to inform them. They were unable to make contact with budget. I also tried to make contact with budget office at nice airport but the phone was not answered. I feel very unhappy about this and feel this shows a lack of concern for me as a customer. On the other hand what made this experience very positive was my interactions with a budget staff member at the airport budget desk. His name is Nizar. He was so kind and considerate with us. He made every effort to help us, including offering us coffee which having spent the night on a chair in the airport was indeed welcome. He is a credit to budget and we are so thankful to him. I would really appreciate if this could be conveyed to him. It really made a huge difference to us. "

" I had paid for Auto Europe Excess Program with Super Cover when I booked the car, in your information leaflet it states that I decline the car companies additional excess insurance at time of rent, but when I got to the Rental company to pick up the car I was informed that I had to take out extra insurance and the Super Cover that I had paid for with Auto Europe wasn't sufficient. I paid an extra 170 euro thinking that I had taken out enough cover. "

" Same as above: Extremely bad experience! We had booked a 7 seater Nissan xtrail or similar. When we arrived we were told had a Ford cmax. Which they told us would not be big enough and lied saying it was the same category as a 7 seater xtrail. We then were told we had to upgrade for a 7 seater Ford smax. This is the same size and category as our original booking and therefore should not have had to pay an extra€229 for the rental!!! My brother used your company the week before and also asked for the xtrail 7 seater. He got a scenic which was the same size as our Smax with no need to upgrade and pay extra.So I know this was a scam and we were robbed and treated very badly!!! We were also lied to when upgrading, we were told we could get a deal of €14/ day and we were then charged on returning the vehicle €22.80 plus vat. Will certainly not be using your company again and will spread the word as much as possible through as many media sources as we can about the disgraceful way you do business. "

Had to go from car park to desk a few times to get the seat then no-one knew how to fit it. A lot of time wasted & a real wind up & staff couldn't care less. I'll never use budget in Paris again. "

" Auto Europe's booking system is good but sadly Budget in Bordeaux had no respect for my booking and were uncourteous at the desk "
" The operative at Bordeaux airport, Hashid, was very unhelpful. He ignored my printed AutoEurope confirmation and proceeded to give me a car which I hadn't ordered (Jeep Compass). I asked if they had a Jeep and he said no. I then saw the Jeep sitting in Budget bay at pick-up. I was also charged 313€ rather than the 289 I had been quoted when I booked. Not a great way to start our holiday. "
