" I had no problems with auto Europe. You could maybe be a little clearer on what extras the agency will try spring on you at check out e.g. extra insurance but really that is not your fault. " I booked a Mercedes E class and when I got to the counter I firstly had to wait approx 40 mins for someone to come to the counter. When they arrived I was told that the mercedes E class was broken. I was told I would be given a Jeep Compass. I understand that if the car is not available I can be given similar but the Jeep Compass is not similar to the Mercedes. The e class is a premium car and the compass is not. I was told the trunk is the same size which is also not the case as the wheelwells come in to the space. I struggled to fit all our luggage. I was given the child car seat free of charge because of all this but this does not cover the difference. I requested some sort of refund but basically was told that management will handle that. When dropping off the car I asked again and was told that my request would be sent to head office . To be honest the girl behind the counter didn't seem to care and was just getting rid of me. I paid for a premium car and did not receive one which is not good enough. I wouldn't have minded if It was handled correctly but the vibe I got was 'yea whatever, take what we gave you and leave us alone'. I am not at all happy with the service I received and will be telling people to stay away from Alamo and enterprise. In terms of getting some sort of refund or voucher or something I doubt anything will be followed up and I will never hear anything. Also I know if I was to Try follow up it would be a waste of time and money on my end. "

" Details: enterprise Alamo Reference 72M2YJ Hired the car from Alamo/Enterprise through Auto Europe on Wednesday 19th April, 23.00 approx. I am the only designated driver. Two friends are passengers. Weather at Nice Airport on arrival was very poor and I collected the car late. The area for collecting the car is dark, however I examined the car and was happy and surprised that there were very few marks on the car as the car had over 35,000km on the clock.. The car is a white Opel Omega. I am a careful driver and did not bump or damage the car in any way. The car was parked at a private and secure parking place at my apartment in Sanary Sur Mer. On returning the car the inspector was extremely conscious in examining the car. No problem there. My friends and I discussed the possibility of attempted entrapment, as there was an amazing amount of time spent of trying to find fault. I noted that he spent several attempts examining the lower carriage of the front bumper but could not find any fault. After a number of trips around the car the inspector pointed out a mark on the undercarriage of the car. The only way you could see this mark was to get down on your knees and hunkers. The mark is no more than 8cm long, less than 1cm wide, with some black marks adjacent. A slight dint (not a dent) that did not break the paint work. It is not on the paint work of the car but on the rough undercarriage. It is difficult to notice it even after you are made aware that it is there. It is on the undercarriage of the car, not on the normal paintwork. It is not visible from any normal inspection of car paint work. I did not cause this mark to get on the car. I asked for a manager in order to get a second opinion and was refused. I signed the release form under protest, making it clear that I was not admitting any liability for the mark. "

" I'm very unhappy about the selection of car category. I selected a RAV 4 eqivalent car from Alamo. What they presented was an Opel Mokka which is much smaller. I drive a Mazda CX 5 and needed a similar sized car for 4 adults with lots of luggage. Enterprise presented the Mokka as the only type of car in the category I booked. Most times I have rented I got a car size I expected. Independently of my disappointment they were doing a hard sell of an upgrade to a Mercedes E class for 15 euro a day. How can your website suggest a RAV 4 type car when this is patently not what is being proposed? "
" Apart from the size of car offered, which I'm blaming on Auto-Europe I was quite unhappy with the terrifyingly detailed inspection of the car being offered. They found a shallow dent above the roof pillar which was unnoticeable and refused to allow the car to be used. I was then upgraded at no cost to a Mercedes E class with lovely extras. This too was found to have a small mark on a mirror and was withdrawn. Our bags were then moved again into another E class. I was unhappy with having a large car while living in the small villages and narrow roads above Provence. However the car was a real treat and the Enterprice staff were charming and brilliant which is why the rating above is not very negative. "

They got me the code. It did not spoil the drive but it was poor customer service from your rental company. "

This put undue pressure on us to clean the car and photograph it before returning to depot. The car given was was full of scratches everywhere and they only mark them outside and with us. What happens if there is a downpour or it is the night? She kept saying that we would have to pay 850 or 950 if we got windscreen damage or any scatch bigger or smaller than the size of the patch et It took a long time as she had to write each mark. I do NOT like that policy. Scratches should be marked on the report sheet beforehand and we should look and approve or add. I had to rebook with another company with costed another 600 euros. I have no idea why I paid the access fee as I was still unable to rent the car. Disgusted is a soft way of putting things. We received a nice car and staff was courteous however at hand over inspection of the car I was not informed correctly and checked together correctly the initial state of the car and later on when car was returned staff identified scratches that were not created by me in places where we did not check at hand over (under the front bumper not visible unless getting on the knees to look under the car) After explaining to reception staff that I did not make these scratches and that at hand over process this location (under the bumper) was not checked they agreed to release my deposit. They agreed that the hand over inspection was not done correctly to help me identify the scratches and mark in form. "

Later we had a 'type pressure' warning and when we checked found all 4 tyres well below recommended levels. After inflation one tyre dropped even lower by next day. Inflated again and it stayed hard. Probably due to dirt in valve as 3 tyres were missing the valve dust covers. Action required: car was due an engine checkover. tyre pressure probably not checked for months. Valve covers are important. But up-speced car with lots of goodies like satnav, cruise control etc. "
