" Girl at pick up was rude and aggressive as I was late due to travel delays. Said no car available, then changed to I could have another car at extra expense. She then relented and my original car was available. My two valid credit cards to pay the deposit were rejected several times times. She took the keys back. I contacted the card provider who told me the card were never presented and were valid. never I told the girl this and the card then went though. One hour into the trip on the open road ta tyre blew out. We avoided a collision. The police assisted and it transpire and we ascertained it was old damage to the inside of the tyre. I eventually arranged a replacement at a cost of €80. I want that back. I emailed you about this. When I returned the car the man there was excellent and said he'd revert on the refund, no word yet. Please deal with this right away. "

I requested a sat nav only to find out that the car I hired didn't have one. When I went back to customer service they were giving me a device at a cost of €321. Needless to say I didn't take it. Overall the service was very poor , 3 hours waiting for a car with children was ridiculous. "

" Terrible pick up experience, 2 hours waiting to speak to counter staff. Counter attendant was pleasant but found there was a lot of up sell for additional insurance, fuel options etc, some additional costs for excess not explained properly and offered automatic but not told it was an additional cost until I reviewed the receipt. But due to wait time could not be bothered querying this. I was told that car was at car wash and would take 20 minutes. Once at the pick up point after 20 minute walk I had to wait an additional hour until I actually got the car, this was in a multi storey car Park with two small children and temperatures in the mid 30 deg Celsius. Staff at this point were not helpful at all. Car was good and clean. Drop off was ok, no designated Thrifty parking space so had to find another space. Drop-off desk was not clearly marked, I was waiting in drop off office to be told I should go to small desks within car park itself "

The selected car was available (A-Class auto) but was an older model, had a higher mileage than I'd ever seen on any car I'd rented previously and had a fair amount of damage, scrapes and scratches on front and rear bumpers and three of the 5 doors. Unfortunately I added to the damage by denting the bonnet and awaiting my fate as to what finally Thrifty are going to come back with. They have already taken 1200 from my card which seems excessive considering all the other damage to the car. I'm assuming that they'll not take this opportunity to fix all the damage at my expense while on my 'rental' so to speak. Mechanically it was fine. "

I would have preferred to have been charged the extra Insurance cost when making the booking rather than having to pay an extra 60 euro on arrival at Thrifty Car Rental in Bergamo, as I had asked the agent if I was fully covered for Insurance. On most outlines on line this was apparent but not on the one I chose, this meant at collection I had to add the card holder as a driver. Had the card holder not had a driving licence with her or had not been present this would have caused major problems. Yes the fact was in the t +cs but as you know there is a lot involved in planing a trip and i missed it in the overall. So this point might be more clear over all suppliers and not just most. "

Also the return journey is often under pressure and still on unfamiliar roads so two stops for fuel is a lot to ask. I would be happy to take a seven eights filled car and return. This would work well and I think most people would be very happy to take an almost full car and be sure that it would be correct when returned, even if it was a little fuller than when collected. "

One of the reasons was that a person ahead of me had not printed out their voucher and the desk could not accept their voucher without having it printed. So, they had to call your office to request it to be emailed to the desk. Guess what... I hadn't printed mine either. I am so used to having voucher codes etc. (even boarding passes) on my phone being accepted that I rarely print anything out these days. It would be worth forwarding an electronic copy of each voucher issued to the desk before the client arrives. Another reason for the queue was that thrifty more clients than other companies because of your prices. "
