    Road Tolls

    Age Restrictions

    The minimum age for renting a car in the UK is 21. Furthermore, drivers must have obtained their licence at least a full year before the car rental. The minimum age to hold a licence in England, Scotland and Wales is 17. Drivers under the age of 25 may have to pay an additional daily surcharge when renting a car from a UK supplier.

    Irish and UK citizens do not need to go through a passport check because of the Common Travel Area (CTA) which exists between the two nations. It is only necessary to carry a valid form of photo identification (passport, driver's licence, national licence etc.) with you when travelling within the CTA. Please note that passport control officials of both nations may nevertheless deny visitors entry if they find sufficient reasons for doing so.
