" Normally no problem but this time we had a problem with our card in regards to the security deposit. It was declined a few times. The staff member looking after us told us to ring our bank but that was not feasible as they were closed for the day. Eventually he got the card to work. Make sure you bank is notified about you traveling outside your country of resident. "

" AutoEurope is a great website and always beats others on price. I have been using it for two years now and I don't even check other websites for my car rental needs. "
" I think I was short changed for the prepaid fuel option. I didn't know that I was being offered to prepay for the fuel as it was extremely hard to understand the assistant who handled my rental. I only found this out when she gave me the documents on which I saw that my card was being charged for $44.03 for the fuel. This I guess was a flat charge without considering the fuel tank capacity of the car. I rented a car that had a fuel capacity of only 12.5 gallons for which the fuel price (if I refuelled it) would have been $30, so I was charged a whopping 50% more, which I believe wasn't fair. "

" If the car companies were made aware of the extra insurance taken out i would have no issue with recommending or using auto Europe's again. "
" Initially all was very cordial however the atmosphere changed when I was asked about adding extra insurance for windscreen etc and roadside assistance. I had chosen the extra insurance option at €4.45 a day when booking but according to the person I was dealing with this was not on their system and she allowed pressure for me to take out the extra premium. She also tried to get me to sign up for their toll tag at $14 a day. It may well be that she was working on commission but the whole tone of the conversation changed when I was unwilling to pay the extras. "

" I did receive an upgrade which was gratefully accepted. However the upgrade vehicle was very dirty inside and had obviously not been cleaned. Agent had very poor English and I ended up purchasing a full tank of gas without realising it. Orlando is justifiably known as a location for hard selling extras and Thrifty are as bad as other vendors in this regard sadly. As a result, check in was ridiculously slow. I'm used to this nonsense but between tolls and gas I ended up paying an extra €190 on a €338 rental. My main issue however was the condition of the vehicle "

Yet one thing to consider: while booking through Autoeurope from any vendor in USA, every time picking up the car I have to write down up all my personal details for the vendor (name / address / phone / email) as they say they do receive this data from autoeurope file with the reservation. It would be more convenient if this data could be transferred to the vendor together with the reservation. "

" The man at counter in airport was completely incompetent's, didn't care and extremely rude and unhelpful. I have now had 2 bad experiences with the same individual. On top of that it took 2 hours to pick up car, with only 10 people in queue, because only one incompetent person on the counter. The staff at car collection were not friendly and not helpful either. The guy on returning the car was very good, helpful and courteous. "

" I picked the car in MSY late at night, so pretty much all the counters were already closed. Although there were clear directions to follow signs towards Hertz counter in the parking lot, so it did not require much effort to get to it. The nice lady at Hertz upgraded me from Ford Taurus to BMW 430 so I could not complain less. I'm not sure Hertz or Thrifty should take the credit for the upgrade, but I'd gladly do it again. "

" When our flight was cancelled and we were delayed by 24 hours, the person I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and reassuring. "
" There were very long queues at the rental counter and staff didn't seem to care. As the queues got longer, some staff actually closed their positions and walked off, exacerbating the situation. At the counter, the agent tried a hard sell on extra breakdown cover telling me I'd be personally liable if anything happened. When I refused, he lowered the price of this "essential" (in his words) cover. I still refused and he eventually gave up. "

" The counter agent gave us an upgrade to a premium vehicle (a Range Rover). Unfortunately I believe it was smaller with less boot space than what we had requested. It was late at night at pick up and we didn't feel we could ask for a side entry vehicle. In addition, the vehicle needed window washer fluid from delivery and kept sending off tire pressure warnings even after I aired the tires. Even tho we didn't pay for a premium vehicle I would have been angry at the state of the vehicle if I had. Overall it was fine, but as we weee home for a funeral I would have rather not had to mess with those annoying needs. "

I would have changed it but I had come from 16 hours of travel, and by the time I found the car in the vast carpark , with my children we were in no mood to have to queue up and get a different car. The speed of the process at the counter was positive. On the positive note, the variety of Mustang available was nice, including Ecoboost and 5.0 GT models. (I have had similar issues before, even booking direct with Dollar) Had I not stood my ground they were trying to claim additional fees. I also paid recovery breakdown fees until a returned with more time and a clear head (Not just of a 24 hour journey with two flights) and got agreement for a refund. They don't like the agreements. e.g there is nothing for them to sell, I'd guess they have targets and paid bonus on add on sales, and nothing in the deal for them personally. This leaves me feeling I,m a nuisance for them to deal with. resulting in poor customer service of not wanting to deal with me. "

" I found Thrifty the worst company I have used and I have been travelling to USA for over 16 years. No staff walked around vehicle with me at beginning. I was at fault for not checking. The vehicle had not been cleaned. Mirror cover on drivers side missing and large scrape on passenger side front bumper. I rang Thrifty on arrival at my destination. They said no problem this would be noted on my hire details. On arrival back at Seatac I was greeted by a very confrontational woman checking car. I explained that I had rung Thrifty as soon adI had noted the problems. She said Thrifty were lying when I was told that they would note it as she had no record. I will NEVER use Thrifty again. I would advise Auto Europe the same. "

In fact he tried to force us to take out 3 weeks cover for Toll roads which amounted to around $180...he forgot to mention that toll roads are few and far between and that you can also avoid them. Furthermore he had Premium Road Service included in our bill until I questioned it. He then said that it was up to us but if we lost car keys we would have to pay extra etc...my point is appeared he was trying to sell everything and not explain anything only for us questioning him. Also as non Americans I was surprised that nobody from Thrifty was on hand to give any assistance to us prior to driving off in the car..i.e. remember to drive on the Righ side of road "

I had to have a car at the time for which it was booked so had to settle for what I was told was the only one available.. " Auto Europe was very helpful when I was stuck in CT with a car rental from Thrifty. The agent I spoke with went out of his way to help me figure out the cheapest way out. "
" I will NEVER rent a car from Thrifty again! The location was too far away from Logan Airport for a start. I didn't know how I'd ever find the place to return the car. I got stuck in the blizzard and could not return the car. I could not get through to the actual Airport location and Thrifty was only interested in getting more money out of me. They didn't care that I was stuck in a blizzard and that there was a travel ban in effect on all roads in CT and MA. I will never recommend them or rent from them again! "
