" Auto europe has always been a great service for getting good value car rental - however in the last few occasions I have noticed that when comparing prices the way the prices are presented is not as transparent as it used to be... The table with the cheapest prices ... when you go to book the extras bring up the price very substantially which used not be the case. Also no included in the highest level of extra insurance is ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE - That should be a basic - the car is afterall a rental - it is the company's car and if it breaksdown it really is down to them to get their car back and provide an alternative to the customer. Having to pay €7+ per day to cover such a basic requirement for a rental car is a BIG NEGATIVE "
" we arrived at the Sixt drop off location where we were supposed to return the car to be told by two sixt workers that the people who checked back in the car were not there and we could just leave the keys without getting the car checked and signed off. When we said this was not acceptable they suggested that we drive to the Sixt office in Faro Airport which we did in the lashing rain - to find the same attitude - just leave the keys when I asked for the car to be checked and signed back - it was done reluctantly and we had to wait for another customer who arrived after us to be dealt with. The car was checked and damage on a wheel was identified - we showed fotos of the damage ( taken at SIXT Pick Up ) - which proved that this predated our rental of the vehicle - we were told that the supervisor was not present and the worker did not have the authority to sign back the vehicle as "undamaged" and he said the only way was to check it back and take up the query about the damage with Sixt Online afterwards. When we insisted that this was not acceptable - he eventually phoned the supervisor and after some toing and froing ( all in portuguese - the worker's english like his authority to check back the vehicle was not operable ) The vehicle was checked back with "undamaged" certified. The ease at which both offices of Sixt wanted the vehicle handed back with no sign off from them on the spot made me feel that this was a systematic scheme to push customers towards a protracted online dispute resolution system. From experience this is a nightmare and luckily we had fotos of the car at pick up ( which was communicated by the worker to his supervisor on the phone with a degree of regret !! ) It all left a very bad taste and if a customer was under time pressure to catch a flight - you would give in and face inevitable loss of excess fees etc. I "

" As of 6th September we still have not had an email confirming close out of our booking and any charges for the toll tag. We had an issue with filling the petrol, which we did every day due to fuel strike but for a number of days prior to returning car, the fuel gauge would not bread as full. When we returned car, the Sixt member of staff pulled a fuse or similar plug from the engine bay which fixed the fault and showed the tank to be full. Simply concerned 3 weeks later that we have not received any correspondence to close out our booking. "

Do rzeczy: Przy drop-offie chciano mi mowic ze uszkodzilem od dolu przedni zderzak. Przy odbiorze pojazdu zglosilem na samochodzie mnostwo rys, ale przedstawiciel powiedzial ze te rysy mozna przepastowac i bedzie ok. Drobne rysy byly wszedzie. Ale przy oddawaniu samochodu juz bylo nie wazne czy mozna je przepastowac czy nie, rysa to rysa. Przestrzegam klientow zeby dokladnie sprawdzali samochod przy odbiorze, nawet od dolu i zadali wpisania tego do protokolu. Zawodowo zajmuje sie samochodami a dokladnie jestem mechanikiem. Faktem jest ze nie da sie wszystkiego sprawdzic w ciagu kilku minut przy odbiorze tymbardziej na lotnisku w godzinach wieczornych, ale badzcie czujni. Zalozenie wypozyczalni jest takie ze wypozyczy wam samochod prawie za darmo byle byscie oddali im samochod uszkodzony. "

They gave no copy of any damage when we got the car, it was dark and we were unable to see the marks on the car. " Been too busy to chase it up since our return but i think sixt have deducted €50 from my card. No contact from them with details! There was some small issue on return when they found small scratches not on original defects sheet but i am fairly sure it wasnt me. Problem was i had to inspect car in dark multi story parked in very tight spot, easy to miss very small scratches, on return we in big yard in daylight. If they going to deduct money off my card i would of liked some contact to explain. "
