" We always use Autorent and have had largely good experiences - particularly as we can see all the options clearly and choose the insurance option that is right for us. However, there is one big issue that we have that I'd love to see Autoeurope take control of to improve the overall transparency of the entire process. It would just be great to be able to see very clearly the deposit amount that will be taken from the credit card. At the moment you need to do quite a bit of digging in the fine print - even with zero excess insurance we had to pay over 300 on our card, something that was buried in the fine print and really not very clear unless you searched for the information. If Autoeurope could have this information front and centre it would remove a lot of frustration - sentiments echoed by friends who also rent cars. "
" Booked a Fiat 500 'or similar' but got an Opel Corsa - a bigger car. Frustrating that this always seems to happen when we rent a car - we never get the car we booked despite the fact that we pay that bit extra in an attempt to get the one we wanted. In this case we really wanted a smaller car. The Car was in pretty poor shape with quite a few dents and scratches and a damaged windscreen. Overall though the experience wasn't terrible - had to wait for about 30 mins for our shuttle and while the staff tried to upsell insurance (despite the fact that we had highest cover and zero excess), it wasn't all that unpleasant. Just unfortunate that you have to be so vigilant, as with most car hire companies, with regards to the fine print, excess, deposits held on credit cards etc. Even with the zero excess cover we had a hold of 300 euro put on our credit card. No proper signage in the airport to locate Interrent and your documentation says pick up in arrivals hall which is not accurate. " My experience with InterRent is like nothing I've come across before when renting a car. There was a wait at the airport for the mini bus to bring you to the pick up area. The wait then to pick up the car was over hour and 15 mins. The staff then took up to 15 mins to process your car, they had nothing ready. Then they car we had booked they didn't have (so they had to give us an upgrade). I will never recommend Inter Rent, we spoke with someone else and they had a 3 hour wait to collect their car. Their excuse was they were not expecting so many people together. "
