To rent a car in Northern Ireland, you must be at least 21 years old (age can vary by car category) and have held your driver's license for at least 2 year. For drivers under the age of 25 an additional young driver surcharge may apply locally. Some suppliers have restrictions for drivers over 70 years of age. Seatbelts are mandatory and children up to age 3 must be seated in a child seat.

There are meters where you can buy a ticket and display this on your dashboard. Do not park where there is a red line painted on the curb or a double yellow line. Parking in those areas are not allowed.
