    Auto Europe's Full Damage Protection explained

    Auto Europe provides you with the option of selecting our Full Damage Protection package during the booking process. If you opt for this coverage, you will be entitled to claim back the excess charged by the supplier for damage or theft from Auto Europe.

    How is my car hire protected with Full Damage Protection?
    Full Damage Protection

    The whole process is short and simple. Settle the invoice directly with the supplier (don’t forget to request all the mandatory damage/theft documents) and then you just contact Auto Europe to file a claim. It is important to note that you will be required to present all damage documents to Auto Europe during the claims process. The maximum refund (Policy Limit) under this program is limited to €3.200 per reservation. In addition, Auto Europe also offers a Full Damage Protection with Breakdown Cover Package where the maximum reimbursement (Policy Limit) is limited to €5,000 per reservation (see the Terms and Conditions of the Voucher for details).

    •  Physical damage to the exterior of the rental vehicle including damage to the windows, lights, locks, windscreen, roof, wheels, tyres, tyre kits and undercarriage of the rental vehicle.
    •  Loss or damage resulting from fire or theft.
    •  Administration or damage estimation fees charged by the car rental supplier in relation to the damage charge.

    •  Physical damage to the exterior of the rental vehicle including damage to the windows, lights, locks, windscreen, roof, wheels, tyres, tyre kits and undercarriage of the rental vehicle.
    •  Loss or damage resulting from fire or theft.
    •  Administration or damage estimation fees charged by the car rental supplier in relation to the damage charge.
    •  Breakdown including towing fees.
    •  Damage to additional items (GPS/Child Seat etc.).
    •  Refund of unused days due to medical reasons or car damage.


    What to do in case you have an accident or the vehicle is stolen?

    In the unfortunate event that you are involved in an accident, notice new damage(s) or your vehicle is stolen, then we request you to calmly follow the below process.

    • Inform the police:
      It is vital that you call the local police and file a police report. Please note: You are required to inform the police in case of vehicle theft, an accident and damage to the vehicle while left unattended. A police report confirms that the incident officially took place and it was recorded. If a third party was involved then the details must be included.
    • Call the rental company:
      You are required to call the car rental supplier within 24 hours of the incident. Full contact details can be found on the rental agreement and Auto Europe voucher.
    • Take photos and/or record video footage:
      Please take as many photos as needed and if possible obtain video footage.
    • Complete the Accident Report:
      On the scheduled day of drop off, make sure you complete the accident report with the local supplier.

    How should I file my claim with Auto Europe?

    If you have purchased either our Car Hire Full Damage Protection or our Car Hire Full Damage Protection with Breakdown Cover package and wish to make a claim, please do so within 90 days of the incident date. You should log into your booking at "My Reservation" and then select "Contact Customer Service". Once there, complete the form and return it to us with the following documents:
     

    • Your original Auto Europe car hire voucher
    • A signed copy of the rental agreement
    • Police Report
    • Accident report as provided by the supplier
    • Check-in/check-out forms
    • Credit card statement – showing how much the car supplier charged you
    • Final copy of the invoice
    • Repair invoice
    • Any photographic or video evidence
    • Details of third party involved in the incident
