" Everything with Autoeurope was seamless but the problem was with Alamo. Taking advantage of tired travellers "

" Reserved a Full size elite suv. On arrival was told none available. The girl advised she was providing us with an upgrade. The luggage could barely fit so I asked to downgrade to regular full size suv. She then advised that this would come at a cost???. I reluctantly accepted as we were weary after 14 hours of travel. On receipt of my final invoice I realised I was downgraded to a Midsize luxury elite suv. Totally unacceptable behaviour from alamo with whom I have also expressed my grievance to. Preying on tired tourists after long travel days. Never again "

" Auto Europe is always our go to for renting cars in the US. Insurance is taken care of and payment is always already done. "

" There was no one at the counter inside of Indianapolis airport on pickup and it took a while to find someone at the outside counter (had to go to national outside kiosk for service). The cars information screen kept going black while we were driving. Difficult when needing navigation on the screen. There was no one at drop off to relay this information to. "

" On Monday 7th October our car Illinois FP 228241 showed a low oil pressure red warning light. Immediately the temperature guage shot up and I had to drive off the road. I telephoned the emergency number. They told us to wait for a tow truck to arrive which took about 2 hours. Then we had to phone the emergency number again and Alamo sent an Uber which brought us to a local office of Enterprise at 202 Dyer Boulevard where we were supposed to pick up a replacement car. The two gentlemen there were most unhelpful and told us that they had no car to give us. They told us we would have to go to Alamo at the International Airport. It became obvious that we were going to be put out on the street in the rain as the office was going to close so we arranged a taxi back to our hotel, Comfort Suites, Maingate East. At 18.12 I received an email from Frances Perkins in Alamo enquiring if we still wanted a replacement car. She was very concerned about where our broken down car had gone. I informed her that I took a photo of the tow truck licence plate which had taken it away as arranged by Alamo. In fairness, Frances Perkins was helpful and courteous but despite her efforts it was 23.45 on 7th October when a replacement car was delivered. Our day was ruined on 7th October. I delivered the care back to Alamo at Orlando Airport on 8th October ahead of our return to Dublin. I made a complaint to the staff at Alamo when we were returning the replacement car. The station manager, Emily Dang, has promised to send us 200 dollars in compensation. Emily Dang and the staff at the airport dealing with us on return were courteous and helpful. Our issue is with the poor response with the emergency service at Alamo when we reported the breakdown. I was being careful to take the car off the road and switch off the engine so that it would not be further damaged. I felt that I had acted responsibly but no goodwill was shown to me by Alamo. A very stressful and upsetting experience and one that has not happened before. The rental car was a 2023 model that appeared to be in very good condition. This was a nightmare experience. "

" As always Alamo provided excellent service. We were surprised by the condition of the cars though, they were not as perfect as they have been on all our previous rentals. " It would be good to have noted on the paperwork which Terminal the car was picked up from. There are 3 terminals at Orlando international, each with the same rental companies and the same layout. We dropped the car back to a different terminal unwittingly. The signage for car rental return is unclear, as there is a facility to return at each of the terminals. This caused significant time wasting, as we had to then get the shuttle train back to the correct terminal for the flight. "

" I returned to using Alamo after a poor experience with a rival car hire company. The whole experience from booking the vehicle online to collecting it at the desk was extremely friendly & stress free. The queue time was extremely quick compared to most of the rival competitors at Orlando airport. The car was very clean when I collected it & the little touch of including a sanitizer cloth in the console was a nice touch. I will be booking another car next Feb & I'll be booking it once again through AutoEurope. "

" Bad experience. "

" I ended up having to collect 3 cars from the airport. The first one had an oil top up light come on..the second the front passenger side wheel was damaged and only showed up on the motorway and the third I had to fill the tyres up as they were very low. On your holidays the last thing you want to have to do is firstly return a car and secondly take it straight from the airport to fill the tyres. It is obvious the returned cars were cleaned and sent straight out without being checked. "

" Overall experience was good except I was very disappointed with the size of car. There were 4 of us travelling and we could have done with the extra space. If I order on the basis of car type then that car or similar should be available. I don't know if it was Auto Europe or Alamo who advertised the Rav as the class available but it was misleading and extremely disappointing/annoying to find this not to be the case. As stated already there was a Rav available but in the next upgrade class. "

" Check in and check out was very efficient. The only problem was the size of the car. I ordered on the basis of ad stating Toyota Rav or similar. However the selection of cars offered were smaller than Toyota Rav and the Rav was in the next upgrade level which would have costed an extra $30 per day. "

" I have used Auto Europe for hiring cars in the United States for for the last number of years, I do it on line and I find the whole experience very straightforward "

" I was offered choice of 3 SUVs, 2 were Volkswagen and third was Jeep, I wanted one of the Volkswagens, I switched on ignition of first one, warning light came on saying inspection due in 1000 miles, went back to reception and was asked if I would do more than 1000 miles, informed Lady that I was driving to Arizona and returning car to Phoenix in 3 weeks, Lady replied I don't know how far Arizona is, I was then told to take other Volkswagen, checked it and warning light stated inspection due now, I reverted back to the first Volkswagen and loaded my luggage, the following morning on checking car I found the interior was filthy. I had take car to service station and hoovered interior, and purchased a spray and clothes in Oreilly auto parts and cleaned Windows and interior surfaces. I have being hiring cars through Auto Europe for the last no of years and have always used Alamo and thankfully this is the first time I have ever had an issue "

" The "hard sell" is a bit frustrating to deal with after a long flight and the doubt over how much fuel to leave in the car due to it being only half full at pick up caused some anxiety "

" The Alamo staff at pick up tried very very very hard to upsell a more expensive vehicle on the basis it had a GPS system but was costing approx $1,000 more! Later they provided a portable gps solution. The vehicle was supplied with half a tank of fuel making it very difficult to return it with the same amount - either the supplier benefitted 'cos it was returned with too much or the supplier got to charge extra because it is returned with too little. "

" In Alamo International Airport in Orlando wanted to rent full size car. We were told to choose a car from full size range on the parking lot. Unfortunately for us there was no car which one can pack our 2 big bags into the trunk. No one help us . We packed one into the trunk the second into the back of the car. " I went to the lot and picked up one of the only available cars. On inspection, I noted damage top the registration plate. I tried to alert an employee by calling them; they studiously ignored and walked away. Being in a hurry, I photographed the damage and alerted the security person as I left. A few minutes later, as I drove along the freeway, I noted the fuel gauge was registering 3/4 and was not full as it is meant to be. That evening, I wrote an email to Alamo and guess, I have not received even the courtesy of a reply. On drop off, I alert the staff member of the fuel issue and proffered a photograph taken within minutes of pick up. His response was that there was no facility for a refund and I would be given a discount next time I hired a car with Alamo!. Chances of my using Alamo again are slim. "

" Overall very efficient and easy to work with. When I requested a GPS the Counter staff suggested I take an upgrade which would have an inbuilt sat nav for more or less the same price. The inbuilt sat nav was not very good and would not take zip codes so it was difficult to get precise location on a number of occasions. Given the price I paid this was poor value for money. "

" Due to thunder and lightening a lot of flights were delayed landing in Orlando so when we eventually landed and got to the car hire it was very busy. had no issues with paperwork but once we got to the garage there was no car available for me. Was asked to go to one side and was told they were preparing one for us. After a while i had to ask the staff for an update and was told it would be here shortly. When our car arrived it had not been cleaned out, there was still some rubbish in the door holders and sand on the floor or the SUV. The water bottle was empty. It looked as if the car had just arrived back and they refilled it with petrol and just gave it to me. This is my 3rd year in a row booking with auto-europe and Alamo and have to say was surprised at how bad this part was. "

" There were no cars available when we arrived at 11am on Sunday 8th , there were lines of people outside with suitcases . There were no cars available from Alamo. In the airport either. All parties there had prebooked so one asks how this can happen. The one lady behind the desk was doing her best and apologising publically all the time she also gave a fuel allowance as a gesture . But the office was full no chairs and lashing rain outside! When the car finally arrived id say it was afew years old and showing fatigue, but as we pulled out it made a funny noise but i knew no point in going back looking for replacement! This continued when cold only,for duration also while cruising on highway there was a radio hiss constantly from engine. "

" My father was taken ill on June 10th. It was a family emergency and I spend June 10th, 11th and 12th in Hospital in Dublin with him. I called Autoeurope to let them know that we were late picking up the car - and would not arrive on June 13th. Autoeurope associate told me that they had to cancel booking and charge me Euro 250 - and make a new booking When I asked for a supervisor, he rudely asked me "if I had read the terms and conditions". When I informed him i was looking for help here and not to be condescended to, he promptly told me he was cancelling my booking (no redund) Unbelievable. The alamo guys were great when I arrived in US. Autoeurope behaved disgracefully. Especially, with our family tragedy. "

" Had a flat tire, took ages to locate donut spare as there was no owner manual in vehicle to assist, would recommend basic laminated info card be left in vehicles of this type. Great service overall though "

" Auto Europe got me a better price than going direct. I paid extra for a gps but could have saved this cost as car had wifi and I could have use my phone to navigate. It would be helpful if Auto Europe had determined if car had wifi beforehand "
