" On Monday 7th October our car Illinois FP 228241 showed a low oil pressure red warning light. Immediately the temperature guage shot up and I had to drive off the road. I telephoned the emergency number. They told us to wait for a tow truck to arrive which took about 2 hours. Then we had to phone the emergency number again and Alamo sent an Uber which brought us to a local office of Enterprise at 202 Dyer Boulevard where we were supposed to pick up a replacement car. The two gentlemen there were most unhelpful and told us that they had no car to give us. They told us we would have to go to Alamo at the International Airport. It became obvious that we were going to be put out on the street in the rain as the office was going to close so we arranged a taxi back to our hotel, Comfort Suites, Maingate East. At 18.12 I received an email from Frances Perkins in Alamo enquiring if we still wanted a replacement car. She was very concerned about where our broken down car had gone. I informed her that I took a photo of the tow truck licence plate which had taken it away as arranged by Alamo. In fairness, Frances Perkins was helpful and courteous but despite her efforts it was 23.45 on 7th October when a replacement car was delivered. Our day was ruined on 7th October. I delivered the care back to Alamo at Orlando Airport on 8th October ahead of our return to Dublin. I made a complaint to the staff at Alamo when we were returning the replacement car. The station manager, Emily Dang, has promised to send us 200 dollars in compensation. Emily Dang and the staff at the airport dealing with us on return were courteous and helpful. Our issue is with the poor response with the emergency service at Alamo when we reported the breakdown. I was being careful to take the car off the road and switch off the engine so that it would not be further damaged. I felt that I had acted responsibly but no goodwill was shown to me by Alamo. A very stressful and upsetting experience and one that has not happened before. The rental car was a 2023 model that appeared to be in very good condition. This was a nightmare experience. "

" It would be good to have noted on the paperwork which Terminal the car was picked up from. There are 3 terminals at Orlando international, each with the same rental companies and the same layout. We dropped the car back to a different terminal unwittingly. The signage for car rental return is unclear, as there is a facility to return at each of the terminals. This caused significant time wasting, as we had to then get the shuttle train back to the correct terminal for the flight. "

The first one had an oil top up light come on..the second the front passenger side wheel was damaged and only showed up on the motorway and the third I had to fill the tyres up as they were very low. On your holidays the last thing you want to have to do is firstly return a car and secondly take it straight from the airport to fill the tyres. It is obvious the returned cars were cleaned and sent straight out without being checked. "

As stated already there was a Rav available but in the next upgrade class. "

I had take car to service station and hoovered interior, and purchased a spray and clothes in Oreilly auto parts and cleaned Windows and interior surfaces. " The "hard sell" is a bit frustrating to deal with after a long flight and the doubt over how much fuel to leave in the car due to it being only half full at pick up caused some anxiety "
" The Alamo staff at pick up tried very very very hard to upsell a more expensive vehicle on the basis it had a GPS system but was costing approx $1,000 more! Later they provided a portable gps solution. The vehicle was supplied with half a tank of fuel making it very difficult to return it with the same amount - either the supplier benefitted 'cos it was returned with too much or the supplier got to charge extra because it is returned with too little. "

" In Alamo International Airport in Orlando wanted to rent full size car. We were told to choose a car from full size range on the parking lot. Unfortunately for us there was no car which one can pack our 2 big bags into the trunk. No one help us . We packed one into the trunk the second into the back of the car. The car inside was so dirty and stained. We have rent cars with Alamo for years for example last year we were upgraded and got clean and nice Chrysler. this year was disgraceful. "

I tried to alert an employee by calling them; they studiously ignored and walked away. Being in a hurry, I photographed the damage and alerted the security person as I left. A few minutes later, as I drove along the freeway, I noted the fuel gauge was registering 3/4 and was not full as it is meant to be. That evening, I wrote an email to Alamo and guess, I have not received even the courtesy of a reply. On drop off, I alert the staff member of the fuel issue and proffered a photograph taken within minutes of pick up. His response was that there was no facility for a refund and I would be given a discount next time I hired a car with Alamo!. Chances of my using Alamo again are slim. "

Spotted the damage when we stopped for a break after leaving Rome. Took a photo of the damage. Delivered the car back. It was then inspected and we were blamed for the damage.
