    Worlds greatest City Parks

    After a hectic day full of impressions it can be nice to relax in a green city park. Bring a blanket, a pick nick basket and a nice book.     Central Park
    Location: New York, USA
    We must start with the world’s most famous city park – Central Park in Manhattan. It was opened in 1857 and today it covers an area of 843 acres. This park gets visited by over 37,5 million people every year! With its open areas and beautiful nature is has become a sanctuary for many New Yorkers. Here you will find ice-skating rinks, running tracks, a Wildlife Park and much more. The most famous attractions are: The Central Park Zoo, The Delacorte Theatre, The Belvedere Castle from 1869, The Lake, The Reservoir and The Pond. During the summer months there are often outdoor concerts on the Summerstage. Travel to New York and experience Central Park!

    Parc des Buttes Chaumont
    Location: Paris, France
    This park is located in the 19th arrondissement in Paris. It was created in 1867 and is 67 acres big. Planning a romantic weekend in Paris? Then this park is a must see! It has several cliffs, romantic bridges (both stone and suspension bridges), waterfalls and a lake. Apart from this you will find several English and Chinese gardens with many flower species and exotic trees. A visit to the Belvedere of Sybil is really a must. It is a temple situated on a rocky peak almost 30 meters over the lake. If you forgot to bring your own lunch you can stay calm. In the park there are no less than three nice restaurants.

    Buen Retiro Park
    Location: Madrid, Spain
    This 350 acres large park is really a haven for the sunburned tourist. Here you will find a nice spot in the shades for munching on your tortilla. The park dates back to the 16th century and is a real eye-candy for architecture freaks. Statues, sculptures and beautiful buildings fill the park. Stroll along the shores of the lake and visit the spectacular Monument to Alfonso XII or smell the wonderful roses in Rosaleda Rose Garden.

    Bukit Timah Nature Reserve
    Location: Singapore
    Singapore is an amazing city in many ways. This little island which is no bigger than 710 square km is home for almost 5,2 million people! To fit that many people buildings are extended upwards. Wherever you look there are big skyscrapers and there is always some construction going on. With this in mind it is easy to understand why the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is so popular. Once you enter the park you understand that its major attractions are strolling, running, biking and its many exotic flowers and trees. This is a park for relaxation!

    Ueno Park
    Location: Tokyo, Japan
    The best time to visit this spacious park must undoubtedly be in the spring when the over 800 cherry trees blossom! The park was opened in 1873 and is the most popular one in Japan. Apart from the exotic trees and the nice pond you can also visit several museums in the park as well as many cultural and sacred places. A visit in the park is a nice contrast to the buzzing city of Tokyo.
