Winter tyres

The most important issue you need to pay attention to are winter tyres. If you are going to travel to places affected by snow fall, winter tyres are vital for your safety. Some countries have introduced mandatory winter tyres. These are: Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Scandinavian countries. Snow chains

Most popular winter destinations are located across the Alps. While winter tyres are available in Switzerland, Austria and Germany, vehicles hired in France and Italy are not equipped with winter tyres. Usually, there are all season tyres available. It is possible however, to rent snow chains locally, which may sometimes save your holidays!

Ski racks

If you plan to take your skis with you, you may also book ski racks. They can be fitted to larger vehicles, so mini category is not the best idea for your ski holidays. You may also rent a van or a station wagon to fit your skis inside the car . Each ski rack can fit 2 pairs of skis and there are maximum two ski racks per car. It is therefore advisable to write the number of skis on your booking request.
