Waffles and a Waterfall - Family Fun in Belgium

For most tourists, visiting Belgium involves exploring stunning city sights. With historic buildings and interesting museums, you can certainly fill up a trip wandering the city streets. But for those travelling with children, you need to find a place that keeps all of the family happy.

Found in the Southern Eastern area of the Ardennes is the village of Coo, the area is lush with forests and its waterfall is fast becoming the biggest attraction. It was first created by monks in the 18th century as a way to supply the watermill from the river Amblève and now it has a leisure park where visitors can enjoy kayaking, mini golf, rides for all ages of children and more!

In the region of Wallonia you can explore the stalagmites and stalactites of the caves, the most famous being the Caves of Han. You can get to the village of Han-sur-Lesse on an old panoramic train, making it that little more exciting for the kids. There are 3 kilometres of chambers to explore and a museum.

Beach dwellers are also welcome in Belgium – take a car hire trip to the resort of Blankenberg. It hosts the Sand Sculpture event throughout July and has a 350 metre long pier.

After a fun packed family day what better way to end it than a sweet treat. We recommend a Belgium Waffle with all of the trimmings. What’s your favourite?
