    South Africa offers many exciting experiences, and it can often be difficult to choose which and what parts of the country you would like to explore on your holiday. Here are some suggestions of places that are certainly worth a visit to in this fantastic country.

    Safari in the Kruger National Park

    Kruger National ParkSafari – a classic and popular experience on the African continent. In South Africa there are many opportunities to go on safari and to experience the “Big 5”. The big 5 consist of the animals that hunters considered the most dangerous to hunt: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. In Kruger National Park it is possible to get close to the wild animals and here you can choose anything from guided tours, to driving around in your rental car. Kruger National Park was founded in 1898 to protect the wildlife of South Africa and with nearly 2 million hectares; it is home to 336 different tree species, 507 bird species and 147 different species of mammals.

    If Kruger National Park is not on your route around the country, you can also explore some of the many small game reserves around the country.

    The Garden Route

    The Garten RouteThe Garden Route stretches over 200 km along the Westerns Cape coast and with beautiful mountains on one side and the blue Indian Ocean on the other, it is a popular holiday area for South Africans as well as tourists from abroad. Drive to the ocean and go wale watching, enjoy a day on the beach at Plettenberg Bay or try a hike in Tsitsikamma, a marine and coastal park with forests, mountains and beautiful waterfalls.

Cape Town is filled with so many cultures, different people and religions. It is knows as a cosmopolitan city that offers everything form high fashion and cuisine to historical museums and one of the new 7 wonders, Table Mountain.

    Explore the vibrant city, go shopping in long street, visit any one of the many townships to see how most of the locals live and eat at the popular Mzoli’s. Spend an afternoon or evening at the waterfront and enjoy the fresh seafood at one of the many restaurants and bars in Camps Bay. Are you in for a little more history, you can also visit Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years during apartheid.

    South Africa is also a country known for its wine and the areas around Cape Town offer many wine lands and opportunities to taste the local wine. Go wine tasting among a few of the impressive wineries in Stellenbosch and enjoy wine at close range.

    No matter where you go, you are sure to have a great time in South Africa. It is a country that is known for its beautiful nature but also a country with vibrant cultures, welcoming citizens and something for everyone.
