    Europe's Summer Musical Festival Vibe

    Europe and summer go together like jelly and ice-cream, making it the perfect place to enjoy a festival or two. We’ve enjoyed researching the best music festivals on offer this year. Here are our hand-picked favourites:

    Glastonbury, 22nd– 26th June – UK

    Glastonbury attracts a wide variety of musicians from all over the globe, this year’s line-up includes Adele, Coldplay, James Blake and Cyndi Lauper to name but a few! The festival is split into different areas, each with a different style of music. To find out more on these areas you can view them on the Glastonbury Official website.

    Festival Tip – Make sure you pack flip flops and wellington boots; you can never trust the UK weather.

    Benicassim Festival, 14th-17th July – Spain

    This is a fantastic musical festival perfect for those who have a car hire in Barcelona. The town of Benicassim is located along the Spanish east coast, in-between Barcelona and Valencia. Recent years have seen some great headliners, including Florence and the Machine and Blur. This year you can enjoy music from Muse and The Chemical Brothers.

    Festival Tip – If you are planning on enjoying the full 3 nights and want to stay in Benicassim,book your hotel early. It is a small town and availability does go quite quickly.

    Nice Jazz Festival, 16th-20th July – France

    This hip, cool, laid back festival first began back in 1948. Since then it has become more and more popular and attracts Jazz lovers form around the world to the stunning French Riviera. This year’s line-up will not disappoint music fans; you can enjoy the jazz sounds of George Clinton and listen to the delights of Leyla Mc Calaa.

    Festival Tip – Prices start from 29 euro’s, however on Sunday you can enjoy the Gospel show for free.

    Salzburg Festival, 22nd July-31st August – Austria

    Just over a month’s worth of festival fun is perfect for those who are enjoying a car hire holiday in Austria! Salzburg was after all the birth place of one of the greatest musicians of all time, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. There is a mix of traditional Opera music and tunes with a more modern contemporary twist.

    Festival Tip – Be sure to have your camera ready, as most of the musical performances take place in Salzburg’s historic buildings.
