Zurich Christmas Markets
November 19 – 24 December
There are a number of Christmas markets on across the city. To see the most glamorous of trees, head to Zurich Main Station. On display is a 50ft tree with 7,000 Swarovski crystals decorating its branches! The market is indoors, so regardless of the winter weather, you can still enjoy the festivities inside.
Basel Christmas Markets
November 26 – 23 December
This festive season sees the Old Town streets of Barfusserplatz beautifully lined with lush pine trees. A new addition to the winter fun in Basel this year is the “Advent Street”. Opened on the 25th November and running through to Christmas Eve, here you will enjoy festive food and drink.
As a plus, they also have an exciting programme of events just for the kids.
Montreux Christmas Markets
November 20 – 24 December
With the dramatic backdrop of the Alps and located on the shore line of the stunning Lake Geneva, you could be forgiven for thinking you were in a Christmas card scene when visiting the Montreux Christmas Markets! This is a great family market as they have a post office just for Santa, a village for elves and a reindeer park! If that isn’t enough to fill the day, you can enjoy a stroll through the charming medieval market stalls and sample the local food and buy gifts.
Geneva Christmas Markets
November 21 – 24 December
This chic and cosmopolitan city certainly puts on a Christmas treat for all to enjoy! Geneva hosts an International Christmas Market; with handmade gifts and food from all around the globe. Traditional quaint wooden chalets line the city’s main street and there is an annual Christmas Tree Festival that takes place here. You can also have a go at ice-skating in the city’s outdoor ice rink.
