" Very straightforward - we are the cautious type so we video the vehicle pre and post rental, photograph the fuel receipt and log any findings at collection - we have used 3 different car hire companies for 7 rentals and always followed the same procedure and never had issues. I'd certainly rent from Thrifty/Hertz again if returning to Eindhoven. "
" We unfortunately had repeat boarding and 10 minute delay due to a technical issue - in Eindhoven one of our checked suitcase was lost, therefore a report was required - this added an hour on our scheduled pick up, we went to the *Hertz* desk and the representative was exemplary - accommodating and understanding plus friendly. What a great relief - straight forward process, retuning the car is even easier as it's returned to the same carpark whereby a ticket at the barrier logs your return and a rep will be there to take over - it's 3 minutes walk to the terminal. "

I received a Toyota C-HR which really doesn't qualify as a 'van' and they already said to me it was already an upgrade. Autoeurope needs to review what cars you are reserving given what options are selected. "

Then I recall that the lady who handed out the car, did not show me the registered damages either. So, why do they blame me ? The fault can be on their side as well, the more so, I did not enter any car park during the rental period. " I'd had a new Mercedes B class, automatic but the automatic device for putting the car either in Drive or in Arrear, did not work properly. Eventually we were told my your agent to get a taxi to Green Motion which cost us €24. When we got there Green Motion was closed. So we had to return to the airport and hire another car from a different provider as we could not find a hotel room available that night in our price range . This cost us €206 and the delay of 2 hours meant that we did not arrive at our destination until 1..30am. This meant that we inconvenienced someone who had to wait up. We were also out of pocket significantly. The fact that we did not received any contact from Green Motion on the night or at any other time to see why we did not pick up the car is a disgrace. "

On our second day of having the car a number of the dashboard warning lights started flashing, wipers started and would not turn off, we then lost power steering just 2 km from our accommodation only for the car to die in the carpark where we were staying. The recovery vehicle that came to inspect the car could not resolve the issue as the cars computer seemed to shutdown the vehicle. A taxi transfer to the airport was provided but we had no car available to us for the evening and full last day of our hire period. " They did not offer the selected car type but they offered a SUV what I really did not want. Then they gave me a very nice upgrade which I was delighted about (Volvo V40) BUT at the pickup location at Schiphol I had to wait another (!!!) 25 minutes before the car became available, also taking into account that I had to walk already 15 minutes from check in desk to pick up location: this is TOO LONG. Moreover, the car had two difficult to discover big scratches/damages on the right hand side front door which was not mentioned on the papers and I discovered that only 6 hours later ( so the door which is NOT the driver's door ) because I was the only person in the car all the time. Because of the trafic and waiting tour busses it was very difficult to locate the correct bus, it took 3 phone calls to Goldcar until I was finaly on the bus. Vehicle ordered and needed for my trip was not the one Goldcar had availble, since I had no other option I had to take the car available and rearrange the travel arrangments of my family over the renting periot. The vehicle had multiple damages which were recorded by the agend and also I made pictures of the multiple damaged spots on the car. When returning the car, Goldcar tried to reason that one of the car damages were not there when I picked up the car, it was obvious they tried to get a claim going! Since I had made pictures I could prove that the damage was preexisting when picking up the car, so that subject was dropped. "
