Counter staff member Daniel was exceptional and the agent I dropped the car to was very professional and efficient. The car was faultless too. Up until this point I'd have given 10s for everything. The charge is in the process of being refunded but it left a very sour taste. The number of emails I received in the process of booking, all the paperwork etc. would lead me to assume a high level of efficiency, checks and balances but this was not my experience. " When picking up the car on Sunday 19th I was informed by the desk clerk that the fuel level off the car was full despite the fact that the needle was indicating this was not the case. I was informed that this was a common fault with this vauxhall car and that it was noted that when I returned the car that it would not indicate full even though it would be. However, when I went to fill the car at an airport fuel station I filled it till the pump stopped and when I drove off the fuel indicator was showing full so had not stopped shy of full. Needless to say this make me feel that I was duped by the Keddy rep and when I quized them on this on returning the car I was informed that yes there have been issues and that they would look into this for me but needless to say I have not heard anything back. Now, whilst it may have been a fault it just looks to me that I was had. It is not a whole lot of money but its the principle of the whole affair. I would appreciate you guys looking into this and finding a resolution but in the meantime I would not be recommending europcar to anyone. "

We had ordered an Opal Astra which I believe is a size up from what was offered. We were asked if we would like an automatic to which my husband instantly said yes and was given a few choices. I then asked if this was extra and told yes £35 a day and I said no way. We eventually choose an automatic Octavia which we were told was €15 a day. never mentioned that was exc of 20% tax when we got our invoice. I asked why they just did not give us the car we had ordered as we had made our decision at that point and gotten our excess insurance based on this and was told it was black Friday offers. We had already got discounted rates so I don't believe they were any different When we returned the car we were told they would send an invoice in ten minutes to our email. Had to call them two days later. "

" I wouldn't hesitate to recommend in the UK. I have used Auto Europe this week in Malaga, a completely different (atrocious) experience. Queue for the bus to get to the car rental in blistering heat. A sub optimum office with enormous queues and very casual staff , only interested in up selling insurance. Each transaction took between 15 / 20 minutes as people argued about excess waiver and ridiculous amounts going on your credit card. I was 90 minutes in the queue. "

There was a cigarette burn in the drivers side carpet. "

In conversation he mentioned to me about a nasty scratch on the alloy wheel. This was damage that was caused by someone else BUT the lady who gave us the car and sorted out the paper work should have alerted us to this scratch on collection.
