" Cars unusually old for Europcar level - mine had over 70,000 mileage and it's not an exception - last year they also gave a car with similar mileage. Otherwise, nothing to complain - reasonable prices (pick up in Larnaca with drop off in Pafos costed justes extra (E35), the rare company that operates 24h in Cyprus (others close quite way before the late flights arrive) "

" Booking experience was perfect "

" Very pushy counter staff. Had booked a full tank and return full. Was not allowed to leave counter without paying for a full tank of petrol and told just bring it back empty as it was easier. Staff working at pickup/drop off were very good and really thorough at noting any scrathes. Car was of a high standard but had a damp smell. "

" Everything regarding the booking was excellent but the issue of extra insurance is confusing. I took the Super option when booking but when I met the Europcar staff they said I should have taken out the extra insurance with them as I would have difficulty claiming in the event of any issue arising. "

" When I arrived at the Europcar office they did not have the car I ordered. They offered to come to me to switch cars a day later but I opted to return the first car to the airport the following day myself and collect the car class I paid for. I was not offered a refund or anything for the inconvenience. I could not depend on Europcar to come to me to do the switch as I had a bad experience with them on my last holiday when they came to replace a faulty tyre which involved several return trips to their depot and delayed me several hours. Again on that occasion there was no offer of any kind to make up for the inconvenience. I was told a supervisor would call me later but that did not happen. If you wonder why I went back to Europcar sorry to say after many car rentals in Cyprus others were even more unreliable. "

" Last year i did use auto europe to rent a car in cyprus also, from sixt, no problem with this card. it was obvious this time that they wanted to find any invented reason to overcharge. "

" In 15 years of using my cards to rent cars (with autoeurope) everywhere in europe, middle east and US(not with auto europe :) ) , i have never had the problem of the people at the counter rejecting all 6 of my cards, despite the fact that i have ample amounts of money on them, just because it's not 'credit' card. I do not need a credit card, i have enough money :) I have use these (type of) cards forever, even in august this year with autoeurope in vichy france. This time, Europcar has insisted they will not use the card if it is not written 'credit' on it, regardless of how much money it has on it - all just so that they can overcharge another eur 130. (which was possible to be paid with the non credit card..) "

" The car that I was given when I landed at Larnaca could only be described as a banger! It felt very unsafe to drive and the brakes did not feel like they were working very well. I had selected and paid for air conditioning but it did not work very well on this car either. I had to drive around with the windows open most of the time. I was left wondering if I would have received a better vehicle from Europcar if I had booked directly with them. I will never choose Europcar again. "

" The price was great and the booking went through without a problem. However when I arrived at larnaca airport I was told that the extra money I had paid on auto Europe to cover any excess I would be liable for with my car was invalid and I had to buy it from them! This pissed me off and would deter me from using auto Europe again, why advertise this super cover if europcar won't honour it? "

" The clutch was quite bad, there was no water for the wipers..it did not work,and I could not book the car for 31 days as I wanted on line..instead I had to book it for 30 and book it at a higher rate for 1 more day when I arrived as nobody could help me.. It only took 30 euro to fill the tank but I was charged 40..{ maybe that is just standard..} "

I am a mature woman and the clutch made me sound like a hooligan, it was embarrassing and did not sound safe, I did ring to tell someone about this but the person I got was not helpful.. "

" despite me taken out top cover of insurance, i still had to leave a holding deposit of 535euro and pay 80euro holding deposit for fuel. i thought that was the reason for taken out the top insurance so you would not have to leave a deposit. to fill the car with fuel would only cost 45 euro "
