    Driving information Morocco

    General Information

Morocco is an exotic North African country with an interesting mix of culture and sunny beaches. Pick up a car from Morocco and visit the capital Rabat or drive to the popular tourist resort Agadir in the south west.

    Requirements
To rent a car, you must be at least 21 years old and maximum 70 years old (age can vary by car category) and have held your driver's license for at least 1 year. (These regulations varies between local suppliers). Seat belts are mandatory.

    Speed Limits
    Speed limits in Morocco are:

    • Town and city: 50 km/h
    • Open Roads: 80 km/h
    • Motorways: 100 km/h

    Traffic restrictions
In Morocco you drive on the right side of the road. Always remember to take it extremely easy and avoid driving in the city centre. Avoid driving in the night. It is actually legal to drive without headlights during the night if you drive slower than 20 km/h! We would not recommend it though!

    Petrol
Petrol stations are easy to find in cities.

    Tolls
In Morocco there are two toll motorways. One runs from Rabat to Casablanca and the other starts in Rabat and ends in Tangier.

    Parking
In the major cities in Morocco you will find parking meters along the streets. Here you can park for 1 or 2 hours. If you wish to park longer use one of the many parking garages available when. Parking zones are watched by gardiens de voitures, wearing blue coats. Normally parking is free on Sundays, but we recommend you always to read the signs carefully.
