Montenegro is a small country on the Balkans, just south of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Collect a car from Tivat and drive along the Adriatic coast. This little country offers beautiful natural scenery, lakes and mountains. Montenegro is a fairly safe and pennyworth country to visit.
Requirements
To rent a car, you must be at least 21 years old (age can vary by car category) and have held your driver's license for at least 1 year. Some suppliers also have restrictions for drivers over 70 years. (Age regulations can vary depending on local supplier). Seatbelts are mandatory and you should carry your passport with you at any time.

Traffic restrictions
In Montenegro you drive on the right side of the road. Hand held mobile phones are not allowed. Use a hands free. Due to risk of heavy snow fall in the mountain areas some roads might get impassable. Check the weather report before you head out.

Most petrol stations are open between 08:00- 20:00.
Tolls
There are no road tolls in Montenegro.
Parking
Finding a free parking spot is generally easy. In the city centres you will find parking zones with where the charge is clearly displayed.

Most car categories can be driven within Western Europe. If you wish to drive abroad (outside Montenegro) you need to purchase additional coverage. Please note that you may not take your rental car on a ferry. Due to insurance regulations, there are restrictions on luxury car categories and on travel in certain countries. Please take a moment to ensure that your intended itinerary will be possible with the car you plan to book.
Restricted Countries
When you hire a car in Montenegro you can normally drive it to all western European countries as well as most neighboring countries, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina. There are different rules applying so please let us know if you plan on taking your car outside of Montenegro. There are additional insurance fees that apply for these rentals.
Domestic one-way rentals are available between certain locations, additional fees may apply. Fees also apply for international one-way rentals. Some vehicles are prohibited on international one way rentals.
