    Driving information Jordan

    General Information

Jordan is an exotic desert country that offers a lot for its visitors. Please keep in mind that you might have to stop for camels and other wild animals on the rural roads. Hire a car in Jordan and visit the capital of Amman or take a trip along the Dead Sea Coast.

To rent a car, you must be at least 25 years old and maximum 70 years old (age can vary by car category) and have held your driver's license for at least 1 year. Seatbelts are mandatory and it is forbidden to use a hand held mobile phone while driving.

    Speed Limits
    Speed limits in Jordan are:

    • Town and city: 50 km/h
    • Open Roads: 70 km/h
    • Motorways: 110 km/h

    Traffic restrictions
In Jordan you drive on the right side of the road. Always remember to take it extremely easy and avoid driving in the city centre. The roads can be of low quality and are often poorly lit. Avoid speeding since the fines are expensive in Jordan and often collected on the spot.

It is easy to fins petrol stations in Jordan. However in the south part of the country they are fewer.

There are no tolls in Jordan. It is important to know that you might be stopped by the authorities asking you to show your passport.

Like in many other huge cities parking is hard to find in Amman. In the more rural areas parking spots are much easier to find.
