For drivers under the age of 25 an additional young driver surcharge may apply locally. Some suppliers have a maximum age of 70. Seatbelts are mandatory and children up to age 12 must be seated in the back seat.

Speed limits in the Czech Republic are:

    • Open Roads: 90 km/h
    • Motorways: 130 km/h

    Traffic restrictions
In the Czech Republic you drive on the right side of the road. Trams should be passed on the right side. Please note that dipped headlights must be used also during day time. In the Czech Republic the blood alcohol limit is zero, while driving. Never drink and drive!

Please note that Prague has very few petrol stations. In other cities the stations are located in the outskirts. On the motorway most stations are open 24 h.

When travelling on any motorway in The Czech Republic you are compelled to display a motorway toll sticker (Vignette). When you rent a car in The Czech Republic with us at Auto Europe a free toll sticker is normally included in the rate. On your voucher you can read all the details.
