In Cyprus you will find well-maintained, good-sized roads that connect the villages and the towns on this beautiful island. Big four lane motorways connect the bigger towns of Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Ayia Napa and Paphos. Be aware that some roads might close during winter time.
Requirements
To rent a car, you must be at least 21 years old (age can vary by car category) and have held your driver's license for at least 3 years. For drivers under the age of 25 an additional young driver surcharge may apply locally. Seatbelts are mandatory and so are child seats for children up to 5 years.;

In Cyprus you must drive on the left side of the road, just like in Ireland. Using a hand held mobile phone while driving is banned. It is forbidden to use the horn during the night and close to a hospital.
Petrol
Petrol stations are to be found mainly in the bigger cities. In the rural areas there are some self-service stations that are open 24 h.
Tolls
There are no toll roads in Cyprus.
Parking
In the city centre you can find parking meters where you can pay for parking one hour. Normally there is no fee during Saturday afternoons and Sundays and public holidays. Do not park where there is a yellow line painted on the curb. Parking is forbidden there.
