" You sent me a Confirmed Reservation (which is your term). Confirmation means "proof that something is true". Reservation means to "hold something for ones use" In this case despite your Confirmed Reservation statement, no actual vehicle was reserved for me. There was no car available and it was only because I complained that efforts were made to find a vehicle. 2. Compact As you agreed, I had reserved a compact car. The definition of compact is small and conveniently shaped. The alternative I was given was neither small nor conveniently shaped, being too big to handle on small country roads and too high making it extremely difficult to find a suitable parking places. 3. Car v Van A car is a 4-wheel vehicle able to carry a small number of people. A van is a larger vehicle for transporting people or goods. So you are incorrect in your statement I was not offered an upgraded car. In summary if I had wanted an oversized van, I would have booked one. I wanted a compact car and that's what I reserved with you. However you did not reserve this or anything for me. Instead it was left for an assistant at the counter to give me anything she had. You have failed to deliver on our contract and I would hope you would make me some offer of recompense for your failure to honour my reservation. "

" I had great difficulty in finding the desk in Memmingen airport and wandered around for about twenty minutes looking for it. This is not at all helpful after a fligh and wanting to get on the road as soon as possible. I even asked at the information Desk and the lady had never heard of Auto Europe before and couldn't tell me where to go. Eventually I noticed a tiny A4 sign saying "Dollar" at the Hertz desk and met with a very nice man who was cheerful, helpful and efficient, and had me ready to go in minutes. Similarly when dropping off the car I went beck tot he desk in the airport only to be told that I needed to drop it back to the outside office which is again badly signposted. I feel that this bad sign posting and lack of clarity as to exactly where to pick up and drop off the car could easily be fixed with better signage and would greatly improve the ease and pleasantness of the experience of renting a car from you. "
