" The experience with Auto Europe is always good. When you buy your insurance through AE, it actually applies. If you try to do that with any US based company, you'll be applying for a refund and pay way more at the counter. With AE, there are no surprises. "

" Despite requesting two booster seats at the time of booking, there was only one available at the office at the time of collection. The Avis rep suggested he could get it dropped to my hotel (about 3km away), but I had got a taxi in to the office with the whole family so we could collect the car and go from there. In the end, a pretty unapologetic response to "go grab a coffee and come back in an hour" was the best I got. My reservation was for 11am and in the end I only got going at 12:30pm. When I asked if I could delay the drop off to 12:30 in order to get the 48 hours I had booked, one of the nicer Avis reps suggested that they would collect the car from the hotel to save me driving back, which was acceptable. On inspection the car was quite dusty but new and very clean inside, no complaints on the car itself. However, I only noticed about 5km down the road that the tank was only three quarters full, instead of full to full. Fair enough, I'm supposed to check these things before leaving, but it's still very annoying when the policy suggested the car would be full at pick up. I have photographs to prove it. I thought about returning the car with 3/4 of a tank, but because I wasn't returning the car to the Avis office, I didn't want to risk getting charged the fuel surcharge. "

" We were very disappointed with our AVIS booking, for we were unpleasantly surprised with the new company rules that require all three main documents to be on the first driver's name. But the main problem was not the rules, but a very unfriendly and appalling service and staff's attitude.
