" Desk staff very pleasant and polite but I hired from Avis because I hoped to avoid unexpected higher local charges on arrival at the carhire desk and lack of transparency regarding these charges, which I have experienced recently with a cheaper company. Disappointed and annoyed to find the same issues. Both bookings through Autoeurope. Appears discrepancy arises largely because VAT is not factored in to fees quoted by Autoeurope? Avis final e-receipt absolutely indecipherable. "

" The booking process was very good. The car had several scratches and a large dent in the back read door panel. This was checked on our return and we were told that this was the same dent as when we received the car so it did not cost us any money. However, I would have preferred that there was no dent in the first place. We had booked a VW Polo or equivalent which we presumed would have a 60/40 rear seat split. However, we received an Opel Corsa (good car) which did not have split rear seat. We were using the car for skiing and therefore had to put the skis over the top of the back seat which was not as practical as if there was a split rear seat. "

" Nobody checks car on pickup. Goes over it with fine tooth comb on return. Accused us of damaging trim. Trim not broken just slightly loose. Put €518 hold on credit card. We did not damage car. We refused to sign. If we had we would admit to it. Had to leave to catch flight. Yvonne the supervisor was not nice to deal with. Broken number plate when we oivcked up car. Asked her what damage was on car when we picked it up. She said there was none. When I mentioned broken number plate she said she was not aware of this. I asked how come they were so sure trim wasn't loose yet had no record of a very obvious broken number plate. So cross. Horrible end to our holiday but honesorxpected nothing less as my brother had a similar experience with Avis a few weeks prior "

" The pick up was excellent, the young man at the desk was extremely pleasant and helpful. The drop off was unsatisfactory as there was no one in the garage to verify the condition of the car or take the keys which meant I had to run to the Avis desk in the terminal which almost caused me to miss my flight.
