" This episode was completely unsatisfactory. I suspect that the issue with Europcar related to late payment of a toll fee which I paid last month. The issue is that Europcar blocked the rental without any notification and prior notice. Auto Europe should have been aware that the Europcar rental was blocked and should havev notified me of this issue. As a result I was stranded at the Europcar desk with no alternative but to book with another car rental company. I am seeking a full refund of the money paid or I will have to proceed further. "

" This was the second car we rented from Bargain. The first was a good experience. This one not so much. The car had a tyre warning light when I picked it up which I thought must be a light fault rather than an actual problem as it was there at pickup. We had an appointment to make and proceeded. The car was running rough and some 30km later an engine warning light came on. When we came out the next morning there was a flat tyre. Again we had an appointment so had to get a taxi. I emailed the company but did not get a response. It was not possible to change the wheel as the flat would not come off. When I tried calling later that evening the call centre was closed at 8:15pm until 7am the following morning. Two hours later the RACQ breakdown service managed to get the wheel off with the aid of a big hammer and technique. When I returned the car I was told that a manager would contact me about compensation but I have heard nothing some 4 days later. Not a bargain! "

Being a VERY regular customer of both AutoEurope and Europcar, we were very disappointed not to be able to add a 2nd driver (as she had a scanned copy of her licence). I understand the explanation on the company's side but being such a regular customer the Melbourne office were less than impressive in how they dealt with us. Although there was a delay due to computer issue in Hobart (not their fault, but that of the French HO) the lady dealing with us was a delight. What a contrast! "
