" On arriving to Luton Airport i unfortunately discovered that i had booked my car hire for Stanstead airport. My first call was to enterprise who would hsave had no problem transfering the booking for me only as it was booked through Autoeurope i had to contact them. I contacted Ypur office on saturday evening at aproximately 19.45pm and spoke to a christine who i relayed my difficulty to. She immediately proceeded to tell me that my stanstead booking was canceled as i was too late to pick it up. I have never heard this in all my rental experiences and certinaly did not see this in any of the terms listed in the booking. She then. I asked could she rebook for Luton for immediate collection. This was also a problem because there was a two hour transaction delay whcih would have left me very late leaving Luton for my trip up the country. In short i was very disapointed with the response from Autoeurope and very unimpressed with the attitude of your agent which i fely was most unhelpful. In stark contrast i cannot praise enough the girl i met at the enterprise counter who was most helpful even though she was there on her own and under pressure with a string of customers. She supplied me with a car straight away. I want an answer on the issue of late collection as this car was booked by me with a non refundable payment for 2 days which means it is allocated to me for that period. If it is a case the auto Euro have a policy of cancelling late collection bookings and keep the full rental fee then I will highlight this publicly as the potential renters need to be warned. Enterprice operate a policy of holding reservations for 24 hours after the schedule pickup times as we had the opportunity of getting to stanstead and dropping off to stanstead which was removed when yout agent informed me 45 minutes after pickup time that my booking was canceled. I was informed on collecting the car that the excess would be 1200 stg in the event of a claim I was told that even if I had a puncture the full 1200 stg would be taken This then persuaded me to take out the Damage Waiver which cost nearly as much as the hire charges. I think this is a very unfair business term and totally disproportionate to the actual cost of repairing a puncture. I have tried to find this in your terms but cannot locate this detail. I would be grateful if you could clarify if this is your actually your policy or was I just conned into taking out the waiver by your agent? "

The staff that I dealt with were courteous and friendly without being too familiar and the car was brought to me and I was able to return it adjacent to the office. In particular, the young lady who accepted the return and checked the car couldn't have been more pleasant and attentive. I would highly recommend Alamo based on this experience and though I haven't used them in a long time I will certainly choose them in future while their pricing remains competitive. "

I've rented cars all over Europe and the excess was always low ~?500.00. Also, when I asked for full coverage the price was £250.00! Again unacceptable. So I was fortunate enough to be told by a British friend who knows ways around such unfair problems to look for independent insurance coverage; which I did and purchased for a very reasonable £30.00. " I am furious with Alamo for one reason! I hired a car in London from Alamo from the 24-27 June. I paid with my VISA credit card (not a VISA debit). Alamo took a £200.00 deposit from my credit card account which became 253.28. Five days later they returned 235.26 to my card. They did the same when I hired in Glasgow last weekend. They took 246.54 from my Visa account and returned 235.26 this morning (5 days later). My experience with other companies is that they place a 'block' on a credit card for the deposit amount e.g. Europcar and they just lifts the block when the car is returned. Alamo are making money over and above the cost of car hire at its customers expense!!! I wont use them again!!! "

" A deposit of £300 plus £9-01 upgrade was charged to my credit card on the day of pickup, Sunday 3 May 2015 and appeared on my credit card account on Tuesday 5 May 2015 converted to 428-12. I was credited back on Wed 6 May 2015 but only for 398-90 - a difference of 29-22. Other car hire companies such as Hertz put a hold on your card for the deposit and then release the hold when the car is returned in order. Why does Enterprise put the deposit charge through? I as the customer should not be losing out because of currency fluctuations. Extremely annoyed about this and will definitely not use Enterprise again nor will I recommend them but will in fact actively encourage all my acquaintances who avail of car hire not to use Enterprise. "

" Handled by Enterprise, they are the only company to transact the holding deposit into the local currency and back again on return of vehicle. There is then a currency transaction charge both times. I will not use Enterprise again "
