Restaurants: Lunchtime is normally around 1.00 pm and dinner is served around 8.00 pm. But there is always a place open where you can get something to eat. The Italians live for eating and a dinner is not done in a haste.
Shops: Shops in Rome are usually open at 9.00 am to 1.00 pm and 3.30 to 7.30 pm (4.00 to 8.oo pm in Summer), except on Sundays and Monday mornings. Food stores close a bit earlier on Thursday afternoons. Visit a market while in Rome. They are normally open between 7.00 am to 1.oo pm, Monday to Saturday. Please bare in mind that many shops and restaurants close for two weeks, starting August 15th.

Don't forget to bring your car rental voucher, valid driver?s license, passport and a credit card in your name. On this credit card the local rental company will reserve a security deposit that will be held during your car hire. If the vehicle is returned undamaged and with the correct amount of fuel, the deposit will be released and visible on your account within a couple of days. At pick up the local supplier will ask you to sign a rental contract. Please read this carefully and sign only if you agree to all terms. If the car has pre existing damages ask the staff to make a note on the contract. Check also if the car takes Diesel or petrol.
